Certificate of Ministry and
Theology
Trinity College Theological School (TCTS) offers a Certificate in
Theology and Ministry which equips people in the parishes to reflect
on their faith, ministry, and discipleship in the context of their
everyday lives.
The Certificate is an ideal base for an ongoing Christian education
programme. The course is run in small groups locally in a parish.
Each group has a suitably qualified tutor who is responsible for
facilitating the group and providing assessment.
The Certificate is awarded on the completion of six units. Each unit
involves 16-20 class workshop hours, plus a similar amount of
preparation time. All units may also be taken as individual subjects
for personal growth and enrichment.
Completion of
each unit requires attendance and participation in 80% of classes,
and project work equivalent to an essay of 1200-1500 words. Projects
can include essays, journals, or creative work such as art or
poetry. Students are encouraged to work together in groups.
Unit 1: Experiencing Faith
How do the ways we experience Christian faith shape our living as
disciples of Jesus Christ?
This unit works through eight faith experiences of Christians such
as singing, praying, using the Bible, and discipleship, in order to
discern the basic principles of Christian belief and commitment.
There are opportunities to learn from the experiences of each person
in the group, and to assess and build on your own faith journey.
'Experiencing Faith' is also suitable for use as a stand-alone
course on the Christian life.
Unit 1 commences Tuesday, 27 February, at Holy Trinity Parish
Lounge, 7:30 p.m.
Cost $45.
An NSRV or similar modern translation of the Bible will be needed.
Orders can be taken on the night.
