 Prayer

We have quite a large prayer group. By becoming a member of this group we commit to pray daily. We do not have special things to pray for or about. We simply pray reverently to God and by doing so, we build a strong and loving relationship with Him.

Those belonging to the prayer group pray for people and situations upon request.  We have three prayer chain leaders; Joy Harding, Helen Rawson and Millie Kaye, each having a group of people in their chain.  As a prayer request is received, each leader passes it onto the next person in their chain, who passes it onto the next person and so on.

These prayer requests are frequently for people who are ill or about to go to hospital for a procedure. Sometimes we pray for those who need help with life's problems and uncertainties. It is a comfort to know that people in the prayer chain will pray for these requests daily.

You can request a prayer by,

We also have a prayer luncheon three or four times a year. We say a prayer or two, listen to a guest speaker and then join together in a shared lunch.  Anyone is welcome at the luncheons and we always have a happy time.

The Kilbride Centre for Spirituality & Personal Development periodically sponsors A Week of Guided Prayer.    The centre itself is located at 52 Beaconsfield Parade, Albert Park VIC 3206 and may be reached via telephone (9690 1203) or email; prayerguides@kilbridecentre.com.au.

Many members of the parish have participated in previous weeks of guided prayer and report having received tremendous benefits.  The next week of guided prayer begins Sunday, 25 November.  Check the Trinos calendar for details.

* A recommended short prayer for you *

Journey with us through this day dear Lord.

May your life giving Cross be the source of all our joy and peace.

Keep us from all temptation and above all may what we do truly reflect the light of your presence within us.

We ask this through Your Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ who loved us first.

Amen.

For additional prayers to meet your individual needs, check out the
Prayer Diary of the Northern Region.
